Welcome to the East Valley Astronomy Club's Classified Ads
This is a terrific little telescope and is very portable. Completely self
contained - very easy to set up and be observing in minutes.
Like new, in original boxes. Purchased in late January of this year (2010) for
something to use at star parties but found I could handle something larger.
Includes all original accessories, documentation and software. The eyepieces
(9mm and 25mm) were never used and are still in the factory packaging. The
clutches were a bit loose and I've adjusted them so there is no play but not too
tight. (I own a Losmandy G11 - so, I've had some experience with that.)
I have to admit, I've got a dose of aperture fever and am seriously looking at a
127mm APO triplet for the field.
You will need to provide a power supply - I simply used a 12V dc plug from an
old Garmin GPS and ran off a jump-start battery.
An AC adapter is available from any Celestron dealer, of course.
$400 includes ground shipping within CONUS.
As an afterthought, I will sell just the OTA for $150, shipped, since I can use
the mount for the next scope.
(Late 2006 model final one before Aluminum OTA) Comes complete with carbon fiber 11" OTA on fork mount, GPS go-to, Bob's knobs, Starizona landing pad, Star-Trac eyepiece accessory tray, dew shield.
I am also throwing in a Celestron HD Equatorial Wedge ($250.00 Value) and a precision microfocuser (199.00). This telescope is also Fastar compatible, and has an 8X50 finderscope as well as a Telrad Finder.
This is an excellent telescope optically and mechanically. Go-to motors are exceptionally quiet and image quality is what you'd expect from a great set of optics.
Possibly a total of 50 to 75 hours on the entire scope and has been sitting for several years.
10" Model LX200GPS-SMT-Includes 10" Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube assembly (D = 254mm, F = 2500mm f/10) with MgF2 coatings on the correcting lens and standard aluminum coatings on the primary and secondary mirrors (Ultra-High Transmission Coatings, available optionally); primary mirror lock; 4-speed Zero Image-Shift Microfocuser; heavy-duty fork mount, with 4"-diameter sealed polar ball bearing, quartzmicroprocessor- controlled 5.75" LX worm gears on both axes, and multifunction control panel; manual and electric slow-motion controls on both axes; setting circles in RA and Dec; Autostar II control system with 3.5-Megabyte flash memory, digital readout display, permanently programmable Smart Drive and 185-speed drive controls on both axes, High-Precision Pointing, Smart Mount Technology, and 145,000-object onboard celestial software library; GPS alignment system with 16-channel GPS receiver, magnetic declination compensation, and true-level and North electronic sensors; 12v DC telescope power supplied from internal battery compartments accepting 8 (user-supplied) C-cells (optional 25 ft. cords are available for powering from auto cigarette lighter plug or from 115v AC); 8 x 50mm viewfinder; eyepiece-holder and diagonal prism (1.25"); Series 4000 Super Plφssl 26mm eyepiece; variable-height standard field tripod; operating instructions. Additional items included are as follows:

In celebration of the 17th anniversary of the launch and deployment of NASA's Hubble Space Telescope,
a team of astronomers is releasing one of the largest panoramic images ever taken with Hubble's cameras.
It is a 50-light-year-wide view of the central region of the Carina Nebula where a maelstrom of star birth
and death is taking place. This image is a mosaic of the Carina Nebula assembled from 48 frames taken
with Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys. The Hubble images were taken in the light of neutral hydrogen
during March and July 2005. Color information was added with data taken in December 2001 and March 2003
at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. Red corresponds to sulfur, green to hydrogen,
and blue to oxygen emission.
I have many 42x84 Carina Nebula wall mural size photos mounted on 1/4 inch foam photo board for a child's room
or any area or room wall or ceiling in the home. I am also accepting donations to fulfill my desire to see one
in every science class, public and school library to inspire our children to look up. The price is $150 dollars
mounted and 100 dollars in a shipping tube. I also have a 5 ft wide body printer and can print your photos at
similar pricing. Let me know and I can bring the photo to a meeting or star party for viewing or pickup.

Due to health need to sell, I cant lift it anymore
Five year old SCT with lots of great years left on it. An 11 inch f/10 Celestron SCT in a fork mount. With tripod, dew shield, spare handpaddle, cooling fan, 1.25" diagonal. This is the version that a Starizona Hyperstar can easily convert into a fast optical system for excellent results using your CCD camera. Or, as I have done, use it for an excellent visual experience with a set of very good optics and easy to use Celestron GOTO system with GPS. Right now it is mounted in my backyard observatory at 7th Street and Thunderbird in Phoenix. So, if we can get a clear night, we can view with the scope and you can see for yourself. I am not willing to pack it up and ship it at this point, so looking for local buyer. Many of you have looked through this scope at a variety of lo0cal star parties and I hope to find someone ready to buy it from those views.
SkyQuest XT-10 Classic:

The 4.5" f9 telescope has a glass mirror and a 1.25" focuser. The tube has
some dents as it was used as a guidescope on my 20" for imaging. The equatorial
mount (no motors) has new oak legs. Price $150.
If interested, contact Steven Aggas.
This Thousand Oaks white-light solar filter is a 2+ and is nearly new. It comes with a foam-fitted cigar box case. This filter fits the 4.5 newt listed in the above ad. Price $50. If interested, contact Steven Aggas.
